The Coega Development Corporation is constantly at the forefront of new investment and development projects that facilitate economic growth and create employment opportunities for the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro.

This drive for growth and development has made Coega not only one of the most successful SEZ’s in the country but an attractive and prolific investment destination for domestic and foreign investors.

Following the successful investment conference, the South African President, Mr Cyril Ramaphosa highlighted the importance of “collaboration with the private sector” in building the economy.

The CDC’s vast array of sectors make it easy for potential investors to make the SEZ their home. Currently, the SEZ is occupied with new projects under construction, focused in the following sectors: steel/metals, pharmaceuticals and automotive,” highlights Dr Ayanda Vilakazi, CDC unit head brand, marketing & communications.

The investment is supporting job creation through providing much needed jobs, with 42 workers currently busy at the construction site with a further 113 earmarked operational jobs.

Marketing and Communications Unit Head, Dr Ayanda Vilakazi, expressed glee at the progress of the projects. We have to commend the hard work and countless hours that both project managers and workers involved in these projects have put in.”

“It is commendable to see that the CDC has certainly not put their foot off the gas when it comes to socio-economic development and continuous job creation in the Eastern Cape”, he concluded.
